Everything was all lined up and ready to rock and roll this week. We had the final walk-through on our house last Wednesday, closing scheduled for yesterday, furniture to be delivered this Thursday, and family to arrive on Friday to help us move. Here's where the disappointment comes in...
Yesterday we woke up excited for the day. Travis had taken the day off because we were finally closing on our new house! Yea! We were just about to jump in the car and head out when Travis received a phone call. Our loan wasn't ready. This was odd because I had called the mortgage company on Thursday to make sure we were set for Monday. Everything looked good, they assured me. They blamed it on the huge numbers of people refinancing and applying for the Home Run Grant. Hmm. We were bugged, to say the least.
After a few phone calls, and explanations, we were able to call everyone and reschedule all the moving events for next week. One more week amongst boxes and clutter. Next week doesn't feel like it will come fast enough!

Initially, I think I was more filled with anger than disappointment. I have come to terms with it and decided not to let it ruin my week. It will give us more time to pack things up, and live in clutter.
Isn't that always the way? It seems like just when you have everything set up a wrench has to get thrown into everything. I hope everything goes well for you next week. What city is your new house in?
sorry that last comment was actually by me, I didn't realize I was signed in as Jed.
So sad! It sounds like you need a new Mortgage Company. We are sad to see you guys go.
frustration! I know you guys are anxious. The clutter and mess of things makes it that much worse.
Just focus on the new house. It is going to be so nice. You are almost there!
love the picts you posted of the new house all complete. It is positively lovely and almost yours!! Hang in there! If Anna is sleeping in a box this week instead of her crib we might need to have a little chat jen:)
